    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way for a small business to advertise on some trucks? I have some large vehicle magnets we are having made that are 24 inches by 48 inches. A friend of ours has a large box van in the Tampa Florida area and we told him we would give him a free stay in one of our cabins that we rent out in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. This got me thinking about Truck Drivers and their trucks and wondered if any of them would be interested in doing something similar?

I found a few websites that offer services for ad space on trucks but they want thousands per month and its usually for these huge ads that take up the entire side of a truck and we just cant afford anything like that.

I would love to find about 20 drivers/trucks with vehicles that are in the Southern US. (North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Virginia, MS, AL) If they would be willing to keep our magnet sign on their vehicle we in turn would give them a free weeks stay in of our 28 cabin rentals here in the Smoky Mountains.

Thank you for any direction you can point me in.

    Annie B.

Most trucks & trailers are plastic, aluminum, fiberglass. The magnet signs may not work.

Heck yeah. Those would be some of my areas. Would love a cabin for a week in the smokies. We did that a couple or three years ago on the TN side and had a blast.

There's more than one way to skin a cat, I'd just use some double sided tape and slap it on the back door.

ON my new truck I wanted my DOT and MC number painted but could not get it painted until my painter got back in town so I bought two magnet signs to go on the side but was stopped in Co because I had no DOT number, sign blew off. bought some white shoe polish and painted it myself and hoped for no rain. They might stay on if they are on the back door.

Years ago I was hauling for a good sized manufacturing company, they wanted to place their name / logo /advertisement on my trailers.Down all 48 feet. I agreed, but their corporate lawyers put a stop to it. 3 reasons.
    1) truck cuts car off, is observed speeding, runs red light, splashes water on pedestrian, etc. Public equates bad act to name of company on trailer, bad P.R. for company.
    2) truck seen at wrong place, perhaps a competitor, and creates ill will between customers. Competitor's salesmen follow truck as he makes deliveries, and calls on the customer after truck leaves. This did happen to me.
    3) potential liability from accident .We all know lawyers will sue everyone involved in a wreck, and if a truck with ' XYZ WIDGETS' on the trailer runs over something, you can bet 'XYZ' will be named in the suit. Will probably not be liable in any way, but with lawyers, judges, and juries you never know.

Now I do not fully agree with their thinking, but I do see their points.
