Before you list a Smith driver as a reference, verify they are still employed by Smith as I know someone that used another new Smith driver as his reference only to find out that driver quit Before the applicant started orientation. Not saying use me over another Smith driver that may have helped you more, just saying before scheduling orientation, make sure he or she is still a Smith employee.

Hey Mike Jr... Sorry I didn't get a chance to touch basis with you this week over the phone... I have been really running hard the past 7 days. I ran the most miles I run my entire short career this past week... 3,454 miles. I was very proud of myself for accomplishing this. I was wondering though... About Smith. What percentage of the loads you guys run are drops hook? I have learned that this is the key to maximizing a weeks earnings... Can you help me out with the answer to that? Also, if my charge isn't drug related or violent In any nature, nor is it related to guns, how this would determine the hiring process Smith would take with my situation?

We are about 85-90% drop and hook. As for your other issue, you would have to speak to the recruiting dept. I have no idea.

What type of logging does Smith now use? I have considered Smith as an option. Just not sure I want to go back out on the road. I like the fact they have trucks most anyone would be proud to drive. Good looking outfit. And having a truck that will go over 65 is a big plus even if it‘s just 66.

What I’d give for a truck faster than 65 sometimes. This morning I got robotic call from Smith. I put a general application out there and they must have got it. My biggest problem I have is house maintenance, grass and snow. It’s a big place and costs a lot to have other people take care of it. I have someone living here but they cant take care of it all.

Thanks for the info, I think in a couple weeks I’ll have a better idea of what to do.

Depending on where you live....go home weekly and manage grass and maintenance and some snow on weekend
