Are you being picky, or did all those companies turn you away?
pattyj Thanks this. -
If you are not willing to work for the companies willing to hire you then you are not going to get your foot in the door. You are going to have to pay your dues just like everyone else.
You may have already hung yourself by not talking a job from one of the companies within the first 30 days of getting your CDL.
I would suggest jumping and on with any company still willing to take your dumb butt before its to late!pattyj Thanks this. -
Clean Harbors

Some of those companies suck, and some are pretty good. Fed Ex is one of the best trucking jobs you can get I believe. Don't know if these are people you refused or people you were rejected from.
Like someone above said, you are hurting your chances the longer you wait. Companies don't like hiring someone that "graduated" 6 months ago and hasn't driven since. You're not a professional driver yet, you passed the road test. They don't want your minimal skills rusting up.
I suggest applying to just about EVERYONE and taking the best you can get ASAP. If you were rejected from Swift, CRE and/or Werner, you must have something AWFUL on that resume... -
2 months exp? And you're demanding like that?
-
No, he's had his license for 2 months. According to his OP, he hasn't had ANY CDL job yet.

FedEx isn't all that great anymore. You probably will end up driving for a contractor. UPS Freight is pretty good, it's a non-union division of UPS.
-
There was another guy talking about working for a contractor, wasn't sure how it worked. So, the good jobs with UPS are the guys that don't do the drop offs for the most part? I've also heard a lot of people say you need a lot of time in the company to actually get one of their driving jobs Full time.Chinatown Thanks this.

UPS Freight hires right off the street. The package delivery and drivers pulling doubles are usually hired out of the warehouse after being on a waiting list for years. One guy posting on here was on a waiting list for about 10 years & finally quit. Maybe there wasn't a UPS Freight terminal near him to move into. So if you want a job right now you would have to apply with UPS Freight division. UPS Freight was formed when UPS bought 2 trucking companies, Overnight Transportation and Motor Cargo and formed a new division with them, ie. UPS Freight. Google UPS Freight to locate their terminals & how to apply.
