I just had started a new job with owner op., when my back started getting worse i had it aching for a couple months prior, then it got worse.
Before I knew it im on the operating table for back fusion. estimated time of proper recovery would be a year. ok with that and i have been driving local from flat beds to doubles . When the chance came to run from L.A. to Dallas every week i jumped on it and at first ?! it honestly sucked!! by the 6 week and when I had to stop for the surgery I was enjoying it alot more than i even thought I would.... Just wanted to ask has anyone come back to drive after back surgery??? ... I'm hoping...

Speedemon1084...Wow, yay I got hardware too,.. sorry about your back, but you don't know how much relief you just took off mine lol, no pun intended!
I am feeling better to some extent and yay at first was wondering if I made a mistake. that I would have to go back to work in a warehouse or office, which still requires lifting and crap from others.. the feed back im getting is cool thanks guys, I'll know more in 4 months and I'm pretty sure I'll be back on the road . Will need to find a new employer, but thats the least of my problems right now. stay comfortable and safe out there speedemon1084 thanks again -
While your recuperating, look for companies with no-touch freight or drop & hook, for your future employment.
Snow Hater and newbee2bee Thank this. -
Chinatown: , Thank you , I will. I'm going to have to set up another thread LATER, to find out whether I should take an advance driver class to learn more and get caught up to date with new rules , regulations and computerized dispatch monitors. or find another owner op that will help me out like my last boss did.. All my driving was local and MANY different trucks , but the 6 weeks I drove back and forth from L.A. to Dallas/Laredo , I have to admit got kinda hooked.?! however the aliments where a bit crazier , me being from Cali..lol.. anyways thanks Chinatown
I like this page, hope to make more friends as my back recovers and hopefully when im out there driving with you guys/gals

Comtrak is drop & hook and has Ontario/Stockton terminals & many others across the USA.
