Well the hotel sucks cant smoke in the rooms instead the have you smoke outside or they charge you. And you gotta share the room with another person, and yea theres food around but not that many restaurants from what i see in the vicinity maybe its because i dont know the area lol maybe.

What hotel are you staying at? There's a few restaurants in the area.

Sounds like typical orientation lodging!
Hang in there man... orientation is a blast! You will definitely leave there with some interesting stories! Maybe even share some with us. While you are attending orientation, I assume it will be at least three days of movies and paper work etc..., talk to the drivers you see coming in and out. Find out which ones are trainers. If you can meet some of the trainers during your orientation you may hit it off with one. If you find one you think you may get along with or one that is friendly and seems to have their act together then have them request you or vice versa as a trainer. This will help avoid just getting thrown into a truck blindly with a trainer.
If you don't get the opportunity to do that then just be sure that your trainer is up to par. If for any reason you feel they are not training you properly or just using you or making you do anything you don't want to do then speak up. Talk to the safety dept immediately and request another trainer. It really isn't a big deal and happens quite often so don't feel as if you are stuck in that truck not being trained properly. Keep in mind that this is YOUR career and you want to be trained properly so that when you are on your own in a couple months you will be able to do your job safely and make money too!
Other than that man, have fun! This is going to be the adventure of a lifetime! It will be stressful at times but hang in there. Its going to take a good 3-4 months before you are comfortable out there on your own.
Good luck man...Jrdude5 and Badboy4lyfe69 Thank this. -
Thanks for the advice unfortunately they have orientation at the hotel and no trainers be here ill just have deal with one when i get assigned to one and do what you said. So far irientation i see you need plenty of patience. I was told that by a driver that was waiting for a truck at the hotel. So far i dont know yet if im hired or not and i was taken to do a physical and drug test. Even though i already have a physical i guess thwy want me to get another one for a whole year well thats better anyway dont like dealing with physicals ir dr for that matter. But other then that all i have to say is that there are other new drivers going to orientation be ready for what ever and have money and oatience dont go to any orientation even if its oaid for with out money guys. Theres a lot of that going around thats why i come here and read what experiences driver say. Have a good night and drive safe drivers........
