Does anyone here drive for them or know anyone that does? I want to start school within the next couple weeks and just about have it narrowed down between BTC flat and Maverick. I live in South Central Kentucky on the KY/TN border. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Is BTC Flat a good company??

I am not sure about the co side of it, but I have talked with some that were in a lease with them and they said they have a good lease. There is a BTC trailer that drops where I do for homeetime, but I have never seen his truck tho. He is there every weekend tho.

Do you think it would be stupid if I picked BTC Flat over Maverick just because BTC allows passengers and Maverick doesn't. The benefits for the 2 companies don't seem much different.
-
That would depend on which one you think is better for you. Maverick does allow passengers if they are your family.
-
They recruiter told me spouse or child only and I don't have either.. Ok I know you drive for Maverick but that fact aside between BTC Flat and Maverick do you personally think one is any better than the other?
Do you drive regular flatbed or in the specialized division? How often are you home and for how long? thanks -
You would need to talk to some BTC drivers. I am in the flat US div. I get home on weekends anywhere from 34 hours to 3 days. Just depends on where my del is. I am happy with mav. I have not heard about BTC as a co driver. Just from some of their lease drivers.

Thanks I appreciate it. The maverick recruiter told me I was in the perfect place for flatbedding. I live about an hour from Bowling Green near Tompkinsville right on the TN line. Where in Kentucky do you live?
Also what do you think about Maverick Specialized? Also about how many miles do you get a week? -
Your welcome! I live on the west side of KY, but anywhere in KY is a good area for them. I myself would not want to go specialzed. My miles will vary. Right now freight is slow, but the last 3 weeks I have had a lot of stupid things happen. Mostly trailer problems. They want you to run 2400-2600 miles, but in the summer I can run over 3000 a week on a good week.
-
How come you would not want to do the specialized? The recruiter I spoke with Angie said right now a good average is around 2300 or 2400 and she said should be more in the summer. But since you drive for them I thought it would be better to ask an actual driver about how many they average.

They stay out 2 weeks at a time and run canada.
