Hi guys!
1st poster here, rookie on the roads for a year and 1/2, work only on containers, domestic mostly (53").
Never had any issue and i kinda felt i was a good driver till a few days back.
My question is: What are the chances to flip when i drive carefully and respect speed limits, respecting the speed limit will save my ### when turning left or righ on a curb??
few days ago i was on a left curb and container was rocking to the right i felt concerned because it was loaded with fiberglass rolls, badly attached.
3 days later on another curb to the right with a heavy loaded tridem container, container rocked to the left badly....again container was loaded very badly.
However i was respecting speed limit very close.
Any advise? I feel nervous when engaging a curb now....drop my speed below the speed limit even.
Thanks in advance!
Please help a rookie driver.

Why are you driving on curbs?
-
Curves: Keep in mind those speed limit signs (all of the them) but the yellow ones for curves are for cars so when I approach a yellow curve speed limit I'm way below the speed limit.
Left & Right Turns: When I make turns in the city I hardly use the gas pedal, nice and slow. Remeber that trailer is turning slowing than your tractor. -
Maybe he meant a curve?
-
please clarify, cuurb or curve
-
That would make sense. -
Well i dont understand, after driving for a year and a half this just happened to you now? It's most likely you had top heavy loads
-
Never take for granted a container is loaded correctly and the freight inside secured properly. I've seen containers flip because rolls of paper were not secured inside & with the container loads sealed, the driver can't check. Take it slow on curves & ignore the idiots blowing their horns or idiots calling you a rookie on the CB. You're the one that pays the price if a container flips, not them.
Streamer Thanks this. -
like another poster said ramp speeds especially are for 4 wheelers
posted speed means nothing compared to you taking it at a safe speed
you roll anywhere expect a ticket for driving to fast for conditions
or some such thing -
I stay at least 5mph under the posted curb speed limits. Haha
Giggles the Original Thanks this.
