Never tried to post a link and don't know if this will work...
Anyway, several flatbeds have been striking bridges (65/70 split) in downtown Indianapolis and are becoming more frequent over the last few weeks ( they have even mounted video cameras to catch the strikes as they occur). Don't know if they have posted any warnings around the city, so I thought I would give a shout out. They plan to close the affected area in August for 90 day to lower the pavement, so plan accordingly. If you read the article please ignore the comments as we have some serious rude people around here:biggrin_25510:
Hope everyone is having a good day and stay safe out there!

The reporter said it is from trucks over loaded without permits. first of all, a overloaded truck would have nothing to do with the truck hitting the bridge. a truck that is over height may, not over loaded. I have been overloaded with lumber & steel. never hit a bridge because of it. the road maint crews re pave the road under the bridge. a couple inches of asphalt & several re pavings & now the height clearance is 6-8 inches lower than posted. that is the problem.

under all overpasses, bridges, e.t.c. they need dig deep & lay thick concrete. NO ASPHALT! then they would not need to constantly repave & be done once & for all. but job security is first priority. road work for the unions are top priority. that's why the work never ends. just repeats itself over & over.
