I just heard that the new 34 hour and 30 min breaks are now offical and go into effect 1 jul 2013. Th e courts of appeals in DC just ruled and also heard it from serius trucking radio.

It isn't over yet. just because the appeals court rules, the SC can step in and do something and so can congress.

    Air must be thick.

    Ferro addressed this months ago.

She said they would be enforced no matter what the court said.

Have heard of ANYTHING happening TODAY--and as stated b4 court ruled AGAINST a stay while appeals process is ongoing and Ferro said July 1 no matter what
As for it isnt over yet--now that is not only NOT FUNNY--it is quite possiby very true--remember the HOS we operate under was appealed and vacated finally in 2007--thus this newest change--BUT only vacated on 2 of 20 challenges and it is widely held in the legal community that once those 2 challenges were answered(thus the July 1 changes)Public Citizen along w/their railraod money etc will refile on the other 18 challenges--the original judge never even took up(his words in opinion)since he was already siding with the Plantiff(Public Citizen et al).......
So while the new HOS are here(in a few days)--I am afraid this is also NOT the end all be all--and since Washington moves so quickly--we may just find ourselves in the middle of all this again--and just like the 2004 rules were vacated and allowed to stay in effect until resolution---THESE will probably suffer the same fate and in one respect or another--the entire industry will be held in limbo--AGAIN--and huge amounts of resources will just be wasted on both sides....and at this point I for one am pretty much willing to bet the farm--they will STILL be fighting--revising and suing--long after Im gone....
    SIGH

All the new hours will do is make me not be so lazy and just restart so often . So I guess I will have to go back to recapping all eight days again . Man I sure liked being lazy on the restart oh well that's trucking . Oh ya and no more 11 hrs straight ! That's going to be the hardest one for me on e I start my day I hate to stop for petty crap !!!
