I decided to take my CDL Practice exams on 3 different websites And here are the results.
General Knowledge 100% out of 100 Questions
Air Brake 98% out 50 question
Combination Vehicles 92% out of 40 questions
I want to take the Written yesterday And they told me I needed my DOT Physical card before I could. One minor detail I was not given by anyone. After calling the Driving school I will be attending, The Department of Public Safety and DMV, Not a word was uttered that I needed the Physical before the written. Oh well Ill keep studying until the physical is complete, and hopefully have those 98% and 92% up to 100% by then.
I am beginning to wonder if this detail was never given to me, what other Obstacles are out there that can prevent me moving forward. Will i need Social Security card information, birth certificates, what is a complete list of things not listed will I be asked for.

Physical is nothing to fret about. Just be drug free. Do a pee test, read an eye chart (bring glasses even if only for reading). There will be a hearing test of sorts, if you have been to a audiology center or a eye doctor before the physical bring those results. Some doctors have you do a range of motion test. But the physical is nothing to worry about. Unless you have high blood pressure. Dont weigh over 425 pounds for most carriers. If you go with prime you have to be able to do a duck waddle (only a Prime requirement, not required by any other carrier that I am aware).
Wanderingaimlessly and sindrake Thank this. -
A Duck Waddle?
A Duck Waddle?
Um, Prime was one of my top choices for a starter carrier, but please enlighten me as to what a duck waddle is, is the like skipping while ducking or something?
I have 20/17 vision (Can read 2 lines below the 20/20 line on the eye chart with an error of 2 letters)
I am 5'9" and weigh 190 pounds (that is down from 225 in the past 6 months and continue to lose)
Hearing Problems none to speak aside from hearing Bass more clearly then Trebel
Out of my many visits to the Hospital for my Back I have always maintained a perfect blood pressure
I am currently taking Percocet for lower back pains and my DOT Physical is on the 10th of July
I also researched The DOT physical passing requirements and understood as long as you have a prescription for the current drug that is not a Stage 3 drug all would be fine. Is this not the case? Are there some hidden rules I should have found on this? -
not to rain on your parade.....but if you alrdy have back pain......then u might wanna rethink driving a truck honey...trust me on this
sindrake and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
The back pain is being managed, I take a pain pill for the current list of jobs I am doing, most recently I was a truck unloader/loader Working 13 hour shifts with no breaks really takes it out on the back, I think i can handle it.
Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
Or does that even matter and am i safe? -
Pain pill may be frowned on by carriers.
I took all my writtens and obtained my cdl before i got a physical. Company paid for physical. -
