Mark Donohue dominated SCCA Trans Am series with a '71 Javelin . Far from ugly the '71 Javelin was one of the fastest pursuit cars the AL Highway Patrol ever had .

 

401 powered AMX not ugly. Nor are Javelin.
They were ahead of there times.

When I was about 15 I dreamed of owning one of them! Thank god I never did.

 

I cnat help but LMAO when I think about the Matador--abck in early 70's the Orlando Police dept used them as patrol cars--NOW since I have ALWAYS been a law abiding citizen--I cannot speak from experience--but I do have on good authority--that unless YOU were driving a beetle--when the lights went on--YOU just put the hammer down--and they(OPD)knew not to even bother!!

I had one a LOT like this! Dang thing rusted like nobodies business!
Mine was 304 4 speed. Gave it a manifold and a little Holley 4 barrel carb and it was pretty fun to drive! Ugly?

yeah superbird, ugly on both ends. also the caddy with the sloped down back end.
