Sitting on the shoulder on I/80 w.b. in a Freightliner Century Classic, Cat C15 with a Eaton fuller transmission thinking my clutch is blown, or tranny. Put it in gear.....nothing, started slipping a couple days ago, mainly in 8th, and 9th(automatic 9th) wondering the cost I should expect
well isnt this fun

Ty for your reply, getting towed 2.5 miles down the road to a Freightliner shop hopefully get a better rate on the tow I know Freightliner will run me through the register.....top dollar, and yea that's truckin
-
Yup, its your clutch... if you havent adjusted it, your pedal will be tight to the top. If you have, then you got nothing left of the clutch plates
-
oh yea almost forgot new pilot bearing also $25.
-
Its a good idea to check the rear main seal of the engine too. Its an easy job to swap it out now!!

I80 wb where? Best of luck to ya.

Don't just check the rear main seal, replace it, they are a cheap part and everything else is already apart, all the cost in doing one is in the labour.
billandlori Thanks this.
