What kind of pay per mile can someone that has 6 months to 1 year experience get with a "GOOD" company? I have been offered .34 from one company to start and train me and the other offered .41 to start and train.
-
.42 to .49 cpm at Maverick depending upon division you choose....
-
Yup, and if you have more than 6 months OTR experience within the last 3 years, you won't have to go with a trainer at all here, unless you want to. And I would recommend a week or so with one if you choose flatbed or glass.

I am looking to go with a company paid school. What company would you think is the best? My end goal is to get with a solid company that PAYS good and then stay there for 5 years min and then see what's out there to re evaluate.

Well, I have HEARD a very few good comments about PRIME's school... but I do not know about Company Schools. I can only think of them, Swift, Millis, and CRE. Prime and Swift have flatbed divisions, so maybe look there. Maverick does have tuition re-imbursement program to help you repay a CDL School loan (up to $3000), if that is something you would want to consider- and if I were you, I WOULD!!

FYI, the your choice pay plan is more like an our choice pay plan, one reason I left Roehl was the pay plan. If they don't give you loads to run you will get a pay cut. There are other things that the company does that you have no control over that can cause you to take a pay cut. I would go to Maverick and have a true pay structure. I did not take a pay cut while there but it isn't a good deal when your dispatcher and planner have that much control over your pay.

Does anyone have anything good to say about Roehls "your choice pay plan"? I have heard a lot about how good there training is and a few drivers are making good money to start but are there any drivers that are happy getting paid what they feel they deserve?

Rohel is good I liked rohel over maverick there far to much wait time with maverick and the miles were low I made more with rohel then I did with maverick even at a lower cpm. The only reason why my checks were have decen with maverick is because of there per diem. With maverick you'll almost never do a drop n hook expect a few occasion you sit several hours at gerdau steel, North American stainless and us steel which is the majority of customer you'll haul for. With the your choice pay plan ever quarter you'll be reviewed based on your performance and your pay will go up if you do good. But even if you have a bad quarter you won't go down in pay unless you have 2 consecutive bad quarters which is unlikely. But even if you have 2 bad quarters your pay will never go lower then your base pay so if you start at .34 you'll never make anything less then that. Plus your pay will go up with your exp and if your accident free you'll get that 1cpm added to your pay. I left rohel to go to maverick cause I was caught up with the .42cpm but it wasn't a shabby as I thought it would be. If flatbed training is a concern then maverick is your choice but if you want more home time but still get money rohel is the winner
