During orientation they informed all of the HRF(Home Run Fleet) drivers that the 3 out of 4 weekends off really isn't correct we would be only be off 34 to 36 hrs, but this isn't what the recruiter had said they said weekends off that's 48 hrs last I check:biggrin_25512: not saying they are a bad company but there recruiter's need to tell the truth instead of lying to drivers this wasn't what I signed up for so I packed my bags and headed back home. just a word of warning for all the drivers heading there, y'all be safe out there.

the 34 to 36 hours off is essentially going to become 48 hours off with the new HOS. That's what all this fuss is about. No driving from 1 to 5, and 7 days before new restart - I'm sure DOT and congress was trying for a 48 hour restart because they made really hard to get one without taking 2 full days. Which is fine with me. And with txbigdaddy! Otherwise, its recapping, which isn't going to help the companies that like to run you 70 hours a week, 34 hours off, then 70 again.

You've been a trucker 11 years and were never lied to by a recruiter and you think OTR drivers get 48 hour weekends home ? :biggrin_25512:

I'm afraid the new H.O.S. is NOT going to change the way these large companies like to screw a driver out of "quality home time". If anything, it will help them in a way (especially companies that use e-logs).

For the most part, they (large companies) try their best to keep a driver as far from home as they can when their perspective home time is nearing...but the e-logs, and new H.O.S. are gonna make it easier for them to sit you at a truck stop because you can't legally move.

    Their excuses:

    1). Our hands are tied.
2). We'll get you rolling when we legally can.
3). Weekend is gone...might as well roll, and we'll head you that way.
    And then when that happens:
4). Really got nothing going that way...got one going to Hunt's Point- Bronx, NY. for you.

They already pull that bologna on drivers...but July 1st. will just make it easier on them.

I would absolutely NEVER drive for a company that utilizes the e-log. I don't normally condone breaking the law...but when it is time to go home; it is time to go home. I decide if I have the hours to do it.

The new H.O.S. doesn't affect me in any way.

A). I am sleeping between 1:00a.m. & 5:00a.m. EVERY day, so that silly rule means bupkiss to me.
B). I am home EVERY weekend for a 'minimum' of 48 hours.

That is a great question! I have been in the industry for 18 years, and I have been lied to by every recruiter.

You know that has never happened to me. I usually get home the night before I have hometime scheduled. I have missed hometime by a day once and that was because a trailer leaked. If a company was keeping me out past my hometime I think I would just quit, thats ridiculous. I was talking to a guy in the lounge the other night who came over from U.S
Express. He was saying he made really good money over there but getting home was next to impossible, his words.
If these companies could keep a driver running the whole time thats one thing. But that doesnt always seem to be the case. Sitting away from home waiting on freight is no bueno.

I like having at least four days off in a row, that is why I stay OTR. Going home on Friday night and leaving Sunday night never appealed to me. Different strokes for different folks though.

I think every company that is going to elogs are just getting it in place and working the bugs out before the DOT makes elogs a requirement. I honestly like elogs better than paper logs, much faster and smoother I think. Just my 2 cents.

It could very well be that all the recruiters in his past were truthfully honorable men or women who told it like it was, no lies, no fibs. This could have been his very first time coming across a recruiter who did NOT tell it straight like he or she should have done so.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

been talking with them, as well as a few other companies, like their running area except for the new york part, and like the fact they are still -as of wed - on paper. what i really don't like was the .34 a mile they are offering me.

Tango is all e-logs. I worked for them in 2011 and everything was electronic then. Their running area consists of taking rolls of paper to deliver (usually short runs that don't deliver until the next day) then you pick up scrap paper. Go wait terribly long amounts of time at the paper mills then d/h more paper rolls.
