Yeah that was what I was going to try and do is 2 northeast runs a week but then again she said I can request to stay northeast or go out west but I ultimately go where the trainers go. But one california run should equal 2 northeast runs.....roughly. I also found out in a thread posted that you go on the extra board for loads/runs and you are expected to call everyday to see if your needed for a load. The person had posted that they went 10 days without a load, so I brought this up to the recruiter and she said that was not true and that she has heard at the most 2 days with no runs. So I'll bring that up again because I don't want to go to 2nd seat eventually and sit at home all the time!!!!
At a major crossroads!!!!!!!

The positive thing about running teams is I will have someone to ask questions to versus being by myself. I guess being by myself starting out would be scary.

Check with ffe..they hve a yrd in dundee and do trk load and ltl. Or knight squire division. Knight has a yrd in lakeland

and those would be good reaons to talk to actual drivers, not just a recruiter or trainers.gearjammer1978 Thanks this.

I was looking closely at FFE but dundee is farther away from me then armellini is in Palm City.
I looked at Knight as well but there starting pay is very low as well and I think Armellini is still closer.
See here's the other thing I can go to so many companies I'm sure but I want to try and avoid taking a bus trip to another state and then being away from the wife for a couple weeks at a time. I mean I know the nature of truck driving is being on the road and the more your on the road the more money but with armellini running teams you have the option of being home everyweek on northeast runs unless you want to go back out. That is very pleasing to me. Dundee and Lakeland are both in central florida so I'm looking at 5 hours of drive time away from home. Palm City is 40 minutes north of me on 95. However if FFE and Knight let you take your trucks home then that might work!?!?!? -
I also have been looking at Crete because there training pay is good but I don't believe they hire out of south florida at least the website didn't seem to reflect that. Also Roehl seems to have an excellent training program but again no hiring in south florida

Not only that - you also have a spotter you can rely on when at a tight dock.gearjammer1978 Thanks this.

You betcha!!! And seeing as Armellini makes you unload your freight (flowers) by hand because of the delicate nature it goes quicker with 2 people. Like the old saying 2 heads are better than one!!!!!BlueSparrow Thanks this.

Yes they do allow you to take trks home. And u should probably expect to be away from home for 3 to six weeks at first for ur training. Unless u get a trainer in ur home area

I run team. . And while that is a nice perk of having a team driver, the cons of team driving out rule the pros. Had to use sleeping pills for the first 3 months of driving team. . Not that my co driver and I didnt trust each others driving, but there is no truck that can make any of these roads feel like ur on clouds!!
