Daily home time
Shifts are 8 hrs long, 5 days a week. Overtime is not required, but if you decide to work OT you get time and a half after 40 hrs and double time after 48.
It's a union shop, which has it's own set of bennies vs working non-union
no truck stops
no weigh stations
no driving for more than 40 minutes at a time
~ employer is the USPS -
Getting paid to haul for the music industry and the people I've gotten to meet doing this, not just artists, but the stage crews and all the hands. I've gotten to meet some very cool people in the short time I've been in entertainment...

Spend every day with my wife and the amazing views out of my office window. Our children are scattered between Los Angeles, Seattle, Fort Collins CO and Chattanooga and we get to see them all very regularly. I love this lifestyle.

I like working somewhere that hauls their own product. It's a different atmosphere when the company isn't making money off of you directly and instead you're just part of the supply chain.
I also like the physical aspect of my job. Unloading a 53 ft, floor stacked to the ceiling drop deck everyday is a good workout. I'm not motivated enough to workout on my own but when someone wants to pay me to do it I'm all for it. -
... hmmm.... I guess its actually after Ive been home for a couple days and realize the explative little town i live in has about as much going on as paint drying or grass growing.
I run the same general routes but their several states long and and thousands of miles of possibilities. and occasionally i get a new town to go to a new route a new state road a new backwater.... something new is always fun. -
Lot lizards, for sure! And discounts on multiples. Best part of the job.

jk, of course. I'm actually a bit of a germ-o-phobe, so the lizards are scary to me.
