Off until Wednesday in SoCal. Started my day at 0715 Cheese to make my delivery in Fontana and I still barely made it on time. Took almost an hour to get through Sin City because of EDC. Once through there, I had to fill up in Barstow and then it took me 15 minutes to complete the .8 miles from the exit ramp to the receiver in Fontana. Going home for the 4th, it's the only specific day off I ask for. Have to go to the yard as my APU only blows air, not cold air, when I turn the AC on. Luckily it wasn't even 70 today in California, but it was 97 when i went to sleep last night just north of Las Vegas. Only have 849 miles to go for the big bonus, I think I'll be able to manage.
H.O. Wolding is a GREAT company!

Did my reset went 400 miles got another reset in, this is not going to work come July 1.
At a lovely recycling plant in GA heading back to Cherokee. These places tend to make me complain less about my job. -
On the topic of whether or not our dispatchers look at our hours, mine did a great job of knowing my hours again. Problem is I didn't realize it and tried to deliver everything a day early. Got through two of them, but the third turned me away. Ended up waiting 24 hours and I'll still need another 34 at some point though I am recapping hours like crazy now.
So I'm in a beautiful part of Maine getting unloaded. If I'm set up for a reset I won't mind grabbing a hotel room and enjoying the area a bit. -
After some time off, went up the Grapevine to Lebec, CA where I dropped and hooked to a load going to St. Paul, MN. Light load so I went through Colorado, always a fun drive. This load doesn't deliver until Monday morning, but the plan is to switch somewhere. If that doesn't happen, I'll be a little upset as I'll be there Saturday afternoon. I would much rather spend that time with the misses instead of Minnesota.

We ended up getting are new truck ( new to us , with 35xxxx miles) much sooner then we thought we would have after an interesting chain of events . Came into the yard Monday to load up are truck and head out with are load headed from Waupaca to taunton ma , and we found out are truck was in the shop unannounced to us or are dispatcher . Ends up they decided to give are slipping clutch a little bit more of a look over ( about a month ago I told them it was starting to slip, they road tested it and could not get it to slip and, told us to run it and that it was fine ) come to find out when they put a new clutch in last year it was not the right one . So instead of making us wait a week for it to get out of the shop we got a new truck .

Sitting in Dows Junction, IA for the night. Receiver said if I get there before 1330 tomorrow he'll let me drop the trailer and they'll secure it. I appreciate them working with me to keep rolling to get home. Looks like I'll be there at 1330 on the dot, the guy working there tomorrow has prior commitments he can't miss so I busted my behind as he is the one doing me the favor.
After that I'll head over to Shakopee, MN where I'll hook to a loaded trailer that I'll drop in Stevens Point. Then I'll head over to Combined Locks, WI to hook to my loaded trailer going to Lowell, MA for a Tuesday delivery. -
Had a furniture load from okolona, ms to bloomington, il & blue island, il. Talk about tight at both stops.
Got finished unloading at final stop, they tell me there are 2 extra pieces they didn't order...maybe 1st left it...who knows. I also have a trailer full of Huge cardboard flooring that covered 53ft that they left. So called dispatch they don't know what to do. Couldn't sit and had to move...Chicago area, no where close. Got back on 294 @ one of those oasis. Hrs ran out waiting to see what happens. Day people left. Night dispatch said to wait til morning. I just want this sofa and cardboard crap out the trailer. Where am I supposed to even dump cardboard? These huge things!! Im stressed and have been left hanging. Have ppl on me that I couldn't get to.
What usually happens with situations like this. How do you get rid of? I wanna drive it right to the yard. -
Can't say that I've hauled furniture yet, so I don't know. I would get rid of it at the nearest truck stop if possible.
What a night last night. Get to Warren, OH and take a break, thought about shutting down but I decided to push to Brookville, PA. Terrible decision. About 5 minutes after I get on 80 (and right after I passed the PA Welcome Center), guy comes on the CB about how they are rerouting around an accident. So we take PA8 to US322 back to 80. These are not the most truck friendly roads, and I've got 42k in the box. We ended up going through some rinky dink towns with some pretty good grades. Problem is, you've got guys missing gears on two lane back roads backing everything up, but that wasn't the big issue. We (A LOT) of trucks ended up sitting for 2+ hours because a couple of trucks couldn't handle the roads and broke down in the middle of the road, in the middle of a grade, with barely anything resembling a shoulder. Had to wait for that to get cleared up and by that time 80 was opened again. Ah, hindsight.
In Willington, CT for the night. Deliver in the morning and it looks like I'll be dropping the MT in Poland, ME and then off till Sunday. Probably gonna get the truck washed, she needs to be purdy for the 4th. -
Not sure about the left over furniture you could drop it by my place in Gurnee. LOL you might be able to take the cardboard to 48th place in ChicagoChicago

Let morning rush play itself out and the made it up to Lowell where the two guys who could unload me apparently decided to take a 2.5 hr lunch break after I bumped the dock. It actually worked out because a house we just applied to rent out called us back and we were the first application so I got to take care of all that while I was waiting. Looks like we will be moving up there around August 1st. Eventually got empty, fueled up in Kittery and got the truck washed. If you're ever in Maine and you want the truck washed, go to the place out back of the Circle K in Kittery, they do a great job. Took the MT up to Poland and dropped it and dragged a loaded back to the house where another driver is supposed to pick it up. It's no sweat off my back as I'm not delivering it, I'm on home time until Sunday/Monday.
Shawn told me that they probably won't be able to get me home every weekend as SCA is pretty slow right now, and for it to work out, they needed to play along. Oh well, don't really want to leave, but at least we exhausted every possible option. I have a job lined up out there, and they'll be getting me home every weekend making close to the same money, so it's really an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I'll start another thread once it comes time, but until then, I'll finish what I started here.
Have a great 4th of July weekend everybody.
