For a few months they might be. Most truckers call Freightliners, Freightshakers. They are body shakers too! Most companies buy them for one reason, they are cheap. I'd rather have an International. They are kind of cheap too but not as bad imo. Century Class got lucky. I had a used 1994 Freightliner FLD with a Detriot 60 and a 13 speed when I was an owner operator. It was an awesome truck. After they came out with the Century class it was all down hill from there.

Squonk I will easily sum it up for you

freightliners, volvos, internationals and maybe even Mack's are the ford and Chevys of trucks. They are fairly cheap so hence why big companies by them.

Peterbilts, kenworths, and western stars are the Cadillacs of trucks.

the freight shakers will be nice until after the 5th trip when everyone starts pretty much destroying them. We are only getting them due to the fact we are having problems with Volvo. At least they got detroits in them, the Volvo engines from what I hear are complete POS. all the mechanics say it

We use freight shakers for sleepers and I can tell you guys first hand they SUCK!!! The shop at 309 hates them. We are constantly having issues with them. I say gimme a Volvo any day

I'm not crazy about freightliner either. Volvo doesn't excite me either but heck I don't own it so its whatever.

just had a nice rib steak. The gf has a good marinade and with my grilling methods it comes out perfect. I'm now stuffed, time for a nap.

I know about running teams and I'd take a Volvo any day. Freight Shakers are so loud and bumpy you'll be lucky to get any sleep. Volvo's are quiet and smooth for the most part. I'm not saying a Volvo is perfect by any means but they are comfortable. Especially the condos. If I'm running team I like Kenworth w900L or a Volvo (whatever model they are now). Solo, Kenworth w900L all the way. Cross country anyway. Day cab at at Reddaway, Volvo. All I run is Cali and I care more about comfort then out pulling another guy on the hill. I just take my time now.

too bad YRC would never by KW900's

Another 14 hour day... They need to stop sending me over the GW bridge during rush hour...

went to 145 first, sat for 2.5 hours and found out they were short a tractor, so the 211 guy took my single and I had to take 145s city twin screw back. Wasnt a big deal that truck I brought in was garbage anyways. I will say that city unit did haul @#$. One of the guys told me because its one of the old school volvos with the detroit in it. ONly thing that drove me crazy was it did exactly 60

After that I did a 187(Brooklyn) ad from there to the rail yard... in rush hour traffic. At least I had a decent truck, one of the 885s with the newer volvo d13 engine. IT was weird because it had the orange bumper, normally the 885s dont have those.

Hope everyone had a great holiday. I've been on vacation since Wednesday. Nice to be home for a few extra days. I'm trying not to use any time off because I wanna take off the entire month of December this year. Back to the 9-5 tomorrow.
