My cascadia always did that. 3 times I had it fixed before I said screw it. I think they replaced a sensor and it was good to each time.

Don't you just love parts changers and taking them to a dealership does not always do the trick.
Now no one likes to drop a fuel tank, but those censor can and do go bad. Without checking it out it could be a couple of things.
Now it was a banner year for Cascadia 2007 it had several recalls 23 in fact. This could of been what caused the issue to begin with.

2007 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA RECALL - #09V391000RECALL FOR FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE : DELIVERY : HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS

DAIMLER TRUCKS IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006 THROUGH 2010 HEAVY TRUCKS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JANUARY 17, 2006 AND MARCH 31, 2009, EQUIPPED WITH EPA07 MODEL MBE4000 ENGINES BUILT WITH PLASTIC LOW PRESSURE FUEL LINES. THE PLASTIC LINES MAY EXPERIENCE LEAKS DUE TO FATIGUE CRACKS CAUSED BY STRESS AND VIBRATION COMBINED WITH HIGH INTERNAL PRESSURE.
Keep in mind, it is never good to run low on fuel as it does hurt the internal censors and puts undo wear and tear on them. The same with allowing your Alternator to recharge your battery's. You not only cut the life of your alternator or worse kill your alternator all together which is more costly than the battery's.

I had 3 in my '06 and 2 so far in this '12. Like Pablo said, change it if you're gonna sell it. They don't work worth beans.

I had a 2010 Cascadia. The only issue I had in 300,000 I had it was the fuel gauge not working.

Averaged 7.5 and usually hauling 80,0000. I guess mine was built on a Wednesday

I just love when I read 7.5 mpg and hauling 80 K. All of a sudden all the physics, mechanic and thermodynamic laws changed.
