OK to start I didn't have money to pay for school up front credit also was not good enough to have cover cost either. So I had to take the route of driving under contract. Spoke with crst this morning didn't like that I would have to be forced to team drive after training. Spoke with Jbs and got approved and received contract in email earlier. They say they will pay for my training and flight out to orientation but they want me to sign the contract stating they will take 96.00 out of my check for 52 weeks thinking is this my best choice if I do consider I will post my day to day experience from Roadmaster school up to my career with Jbs
Got my contract waiting to be signed

Life is always full of surprises if you have to sign a contract then you need to know this if you pass and get the job and made your payments with them & then they decided to terminate your employment due to Accidents or what have you YOU STILL ARE OBLIGATED Make the $96/week payment Remember that and try to stay out of trouble as much as possible until the loan is off your back

Great point I'm also wondering if anything is wrong with paying this 96.00 out of my check

READ THAT CONTRACT. What happens if you bail on them? Do you just keep making payments. If so, that's fine. Most aren't that simple tho. They may hold onto your proof of training (necessary to get other jobs due to insurance). They may mess up your DAC. I've heard of them holding onto Licenses. Tons of stuff they can screw you over on.
On that note, the only other place I know that trains, and seems to be somewhat reputable (better than others at least) is Prime. I've heard good things about their training program, but check it out yourself and ask the same kinds of questions about their contract. -

Have you looked at local state community colleges that have truck driving training? They'll be 1/3 the price, but you may have to be on a waiting list, and there may be some grants availabe
I wouldn't get $5000 into debt for training and a career you don't know for sure you will like,or will pass the training, or survive a year to pay it off. -

I would also worry if the $96 was allowed to be over a certain percentage of your NET pay. For instance, if you only gross $300 one week, and after taxes you have $220, are they still going to take $96? I would make sure the "Contract" states somewhere a percentage of Net Pay that the $96 is not allowed to exceed. Anything over 25% of you NET pay going to the debt would be a bad deal. Any company that can't get you enough work to net at least $400 a week, you shouldn't want to work for anyway.
