Some reports don't make sense . Drivers will report a bear they saw over 100 miles back . It could be 2 hours since they saw him . It will be another 2 hours before the drivers hearing the report get there . Will he still be there 4 hours later ?

You'd think a smokey report would give road/direction, mile marker, and oughta be current, not two hours ago.

There's a program that's pretty active on the IPhone and Android phones called Waze. It's a GPS program but, you can report traffic jams, wrecks, and police reports on it. It puts a symbol on the road (Little police officers head for the police report) and lets you know when you're getting close to it. An Icon will pop up and count down the miles and if he's still there, you can hit the thumbs up, or click on not there and the report will go away.

Best of all it's free to use. I just use it for traveling through Portland, OR and it's saved me a few traffic jams already.. You can change to another road and it'll update the route you're traveling pretty quick.

I gave a bear report just a little while ago saved a Idaho log truck that was running over the 60 mph limit.

All I call up is traffic stopping or accidents.

the lack of bear and coop reports stems from the trucks already being overloaded w/electronic doo hickeys-vorad,automatics,qualcoms,elogs, yet no cb radio, and the "modern" driver's inability to multitask due to having those ear things plugging his ears. i mean what driver loaded down w/all that plus running 62 mph in the truck hammer lane,in a 70-75 mph zone, could possibly key a microphone up and transmit a bear's 20 or if the scales are open or closed?

perhaps their "trainer"didn't teach them the intricate details of using a citizens band transceiver-

So much stupid stuff on the radio, I just turn it off. When I have had it on, no one says a thing about a backup till after we are stopped. So, most of the time, I am on another channel if running with someone or it is off.
