T600 KW with full fairings. 13, 15 or 18 speed. detroit or cummins for fuel mileage with 3.55 rear gears. lower gears would be okay too but nothing higher than 3.90. if you find a nice one with a cat motor the higher (numericlly lower) gears you can find the better. should be able to get a real nice one with low mileage for your price.

other aero trucks would include freightliner columbia or century, they are cheaper but they show there cheapness too. Internationals are real cheap and can be fairly aerodynamic with full fairings. Kenworth T2000 pete 382(is that the aero pete? I forget) Volvo's are nice and ride nice just stay away from the volvo motor. Volvo's are also expensive and netorious for electrical problems

there is a few others who work like landstar. I have to go look up the names though. Somepeople don't like landstar, they say they take too much of a percentage. If you pull there wagon it is kinda steep. Usually not a problem with good freight but freight is kinda slow and cheap right now. It's just something you need to look into for you and your situation.
I have an app out to landstar right now. Not sure if I will get through or not. I have a company here I'm talking to also. That's nice because it's more local type work. The money isn't as good though but the work is steady.

Well if you go Landstar thatll be an experience, thats as close to a real Independent as youll get today...And go into something specialized like heavy haul or something..Freight is a joke..And I heard to many flat bedder cry about only avg. 1.04 a mile..When you cover everything except cargo ins.. 1.04 sucks!! But I have heard the heavy hauler do decent and the ammunition transport drivers as well..If your lucky enough to get to do it... But anyway just make sure you do your homework..Youll figure it out..

If you can go with a Volvo VN670 or 630 with full fairings. Maybe medicine man can help out which engine and gears would do better.
