As a lease operator, what you get paid is up to you. You'd be an independent contractor, and "pay" is one of the expenses that comes out of your gross revenue.

anywhere except prime would be best. Western express is not all that great, but better than prime. As far as lease/purchase, this is a scam by the trucking companies for you to pay off the note on the truck for them. At the end of the lease you have a truck that is so worn out it is not worth having and will cost more to keep on the road than it is worth. If you are hell bent on buying a truck, then buy on your terms. Don't have the money, run company equipment until you do. If you can never save up enough to buy one on your terms, then owning one if not for you. Good luck in your future endeavors.

You really should not post unthoughtful blather such as this subject that you have no knowledge of. You do sound like a failed dolt that focuses on the negative stories (and I used the word stories purposefully) that people tell you. Please check yourself, as you are presenting yourself in a rather bad light.

Really because 1000 a week in fixed expenses running refers on e logs makes so much sense
-
As long as you have the revenue to support that kind of fixed expense, it's not really a big deal.

I just can not believe people do not see why these companies are doing these leases, companies are laughing at how stupid some people are, yes You, the one thinking about it.please don't fall in to it.

It's good for the company, and can be good for the driver. It all depends on how you approach it. Treat it as a paycheck, drive like a company loser, and you'll end up in a financial ditch. Treat it like a business, manage your expenses well, and it can be quite profitable- well beyond what a company guy with a paycheck can make.

Calling all haters!!!! Calling all haters!!!! Start the lease bashing now ! ! ! ! !
What? No experience leasing? Never read a lease? Never met a successful lease operator? You might want to crawl back into your shell then!FLATBED Thanks this. -
There are two types of people who consider leasing from a supermegacarrierfleet. One type of person is (like myself) detail oriented and will parse every word of the agreement before taking it to an attorney (one that is experienced in trucking law). After having the attorney explain the ramifications of every line in the lease agreement you then take it to your CPA and have him give his opinion of your profits based on typical earnings that are available from several websites showing how many miles you need to get at what price to cover a set amount of costs. The CPA is probably better at figuring out the math. Then with all that information you discuss with your family what their responsibilities will be, your wife may need to do some bill paying or scheduling of maintenance, etc... You son may be expected to wash and polish the truck every other weekend... After you and your family study and discuss every possible scenario about how much work everyone will be expected to perform and you know what the financial rewards will be, you make an educated decision .
Or...
You spend 3 minutes at the desk signing a few papers and "hope for the best".FLATBED Thanks this. -
You spend 3 minutes at the desk
I have seen people take longer deciding what they want on their HAMBURGER than they did deciding on getting into a LEASE.
