Regardless if you take a physical before you go you will still have to do Prime's physical when you get there. If you are a big guy you can pretty much count on taking the sleep test. You dont always need the machine for sleep apnea I am 6'4" and 330 pounds and did not require the machine. But being over the bmi is not an immediate disqualifier.

My BMI is 42. 5'11" 302lbs and I just passed my DOT 2 year card no sleep apnea test needed etc.
BigJayDragon Thanks this. -
thats what the question was... BMI limits at Prime.
Thank you for adding to the confusion -
The DOT physical regulations are the same nationwide. Companies may use BMI as a qualifier for sleep apnea studies. They also use your answers to the medical questions along a visual throat test. BMI is used to see if you need to answer the questions and have the throat examined etc too. Just trying to help so BIG guys do not worry and I was pre hired by Prime and may still go there. That is why I am in here with Jimmy.

A pre hire? Excuse me.
DOT sets minnimum physical standards.
A company can set any parameter above the minimum they choose as long as they apply it evenly to all applicants. Prime does so on a number of things. BMI, Disbetes A1C test limit, they disqualify a number of anxiety and anti depressant medications.
Prime does use the BMI as a qualifier and has been doing so for a few years now. I garauntee that a 42 BMI will trigger the test at Prime. However Im not exactly sure what the lower BMI limit is currently. Last I heard it was 39 or maybe 33...
you come to Prime, your two year card won't mean a thing. Prime doc will give you a new examination, and with a 42 BMI you will get a three month card and an appointment with the sleep clinic... After that you will never get better than a one year card until you either pass the test. -
There's no BMI limit at Prime. It's just one of the conditions that may lead to a sleep study.

you refuse the request for testing, you are not hired.
