I'm looking for advice on how to get my foot in the door. I was taught how to drive through family and I got my license on my own, without the help of a school. What should I so next? I mean how do I go about finding a job with no experience. And what are some companies I should look into.

Some companies will hire you and will give you some additional training such as a little refresher; depends on where you live also, you must be in a hiring area. Put your location on the profile.

    Try these for starters :
They have online applications>put in several applications, then choose from the job offers you get.

    Maverick
    Schneider
    Prime (specify refrigerated/flatbed/tanker)
    Central Refrigerated
    JBS Carriers

When you apply for jobs, ignore the "experience required" and apply anyway. Many companies hire new drivers or students and don't advertise or put on their website.

Do a search for custom harvesters,if you can go away for about 4 months you will learn to drive on and off road and learn to haul heavy. Believe me 4 months of harvest you would learn more than 10 years of school or any of the mega company training mills. My boy went on the harvest at 18 then drove for a feed lot for two years and became an owner operator leased to a very good company at 21.He is doing excellent
