go OTR like the rest of us did. get your experience in. then worry about a dedicated.

it seems that no one wants to pay there dues anymore. they all want there license and they all wanna be home.

 

1. Was this a company recruiter,

or an independent ?

2. Will you get any promises, in writing ??

 

Yeah you can make money with family dollar and dollar general because and you have to unload the trailer and i hope you are ready to kill your back and work hard. You are new if i was you i wouldn't take this dedicated account for now because you will be going to some tight area i promiss you man if you don't know what you doing people will get the hell out of you. I use to do C&S for Jb hunt out of windsor locks, ct going to all 5 boroughs everyday sometimes i have drop my loaded trailer in a tight street and then hook to an empty take it to the street and come back my loaded trailer to the dock and i had to stop traffic to do all that people in ny drive crazy and as a new driver if you can't do your job quick and safe they will mess with you. I saw a werner driver at a family dollar store in hempstead ny he stopped traffic and he couldn't do a straight back because it was too tight he didn't have enough space to straight himself out plus im sure he was a new driver by the way he did his set up and everything people were acting crazy after like 5 minutes waiting to back up.

 

If i was you i would start looking for a northeast regional positionn that most companies offer because you don't want to go otr where you will be in california thousands miles away no don't do that, if you want to go with werner ask them for the northeast regional position and you will get use to what is it like to drive a big rig in ny and then go from there that's what i did but the pay is low 0.26cpm but it's good experience i started with werner. You don't want to take your truck home, i took my truck home two weeks a go i had a SOB city cop give me 2 tickets 1 for the tractor and 1 for the trailer and they were not disconnected when i call Jb hunt to report that i got 2 parking tickets they were laughing saying that they never heard about such stupid cop give me one for the truck and one for the trailer plus the truck was running all night i guess the danmy didn't know about state law no idle.

And I would do it I know someone doing and he trains too.so while he's home the trainee stays in hotel. Its nice because u get a brake from eachother lol
