I have an email out to TMC rightnow. DOn't know how they are compared to the others but they have dedicated runs in my area right now.

I was set up for Maverick a month or so ago but I put them of trying tomake things work out where I was. boy was that a mistake. I may go back and talk to them again now

CFI is now Con-way Truckload. not to be confused w/ CCx or any of their other LTL groups. no doubles, no dockwork. they are firing lots of people right now, trust me. miles have been dropping off a lot lately from where they usually were. trucks are slowing down, benefits getting worse.

Dunno bout what order to place them, I can say a lil bit about TMC and Maverick. I work for Gypsum Express they have a flatbed division I worked in for about a year before I went back to dry vans. I thought about trying both of the above companies out and got alot of info from the drivers that were picking up and delivering at the same places I was.

Pretty sure both are 99% Flatbed where as the other 2 companies Rohel and CFI are dryvan. There is a HUGE difference obviously hehe. Also TMC is a % base pay from what I got from the the drivers , most seemed pretty happy working for both TMC especially the ones that were in the specialized division hauling john deer equipment etc ..... they showed me some of their Qualcom messages to see how the pay system works.. they tell you how much the truck is being payed and you get your % off of that... sometimes it sucks hard and you make less than 25 cents per mile.. other times it might be great and you are making 50 cents per mile ...

Maverick is not % based and has a decent pay rate, seem to have nice long runs if you like that. I worked mostly the South East area FL,GA,SC,NC.

Gypsum Express does not do the Trainee thing. You need min- 6 months otr experience (WHICH IMO ISNT ALOT) there pay is blah.. IMO Flatbed you start at 36 cents per mile, 1 cent per mile raise per year + 1 cent per mile safty bonus (After 3 years consecutive they give you an additional 1250$) up to a max of 41 cents per mile.

I have quit them 2 times in the last 3 years hehe so that might tell you something but then again im looking to make alot of money (Heh gotta do something when you have a 2,150$ mortgage payment (Sigh))

1st time I left I decided I was going to try a lease purchase program with LandAir ... Now let me say this first... Landair is one hell of a company and I probrobly should of stayed on as a company driver but.. well tempers happen and you say stuff you dont mean sometimes hehe. But anywhoo they go thru a 2nd party company to do their lease purchase TDLP is their name out of Ohio. Long story short... I got a 2000 KW T2000 from them, beautiful truck inside and out looked brand new almost. Only problem is 2 weeks after I got it, threw a rod right through the engine block the size of a softball. Now TDLP was kinda kewl about it .. they could of made me keep making payments on the truck ( NEVER GET A TRUCK AS IS) but the guy knew he wasnt going to get a nother dime out of me. I lost my 1000$ deposit and about 500$ in fuel and repairs (You have to get your truck inspected and fixed to their likes before leasing on with a company) and they let me walk away from the truck. Took a bit of time for LandAir to get me the 1600$ they owed me but thats understandable cause they were missing thier qualcomm system still (TDLP UPS it back to them)

LandAir has great pay btw especially for company drivers and home every weekend if you like they do tons and tons of drop and hook (Which = more money for you cause you dont spend downtime at docks) this was last year it was 38 cent per mile + a bonus 8 cent per mile if you drive more than 2,200 miles a week (Paid each week) 46 cent per mile is pretty #### good.

The second time I quit was to try Swift lease purchase program (hehe yah I know some people have to learn the hard way) well to say the least I was VERY VERY VERY lucky I took option 2. Option 1 is put down 2,000 and start right away in a lease purchase truck. Option 2 is driver as a company driver and do at least 10,000 miles in the next 30 days and put down 500$... well huge huge huge huge huge huge huge... mistake going to work for swift, I have never in my life seen a company not give a #### about their drivers so much as them and thats not just on a personal level I mean they could care less if their trucks sit for weeks at a time without moving. I would get short loads of 200 miles that had appointments to deliver on the next day so had to sit for days on end doing that. Getting something repaired on your truck is like a major issue, to get a new emergency air line I sat in thier Ohio terminal for 16hrs straight waiting to get it fixed when the mechanic says "It probrobly wont get fixed till tommorow" Im like you have got to be frickin kidding me, give me a wrench and the hose and ill do it myself... took a big #### fit by me and the manager to finally get them to fix it (took the ###### 5 mins to do it). Sending me home when I didnt want to go home and not when I wanted to.. the first 30 days I drove a grand total of 4,000 miles heh so basically after being sent home when I didnt want to, I told my "Driver Manager" who is rarely there.. if you give me one more run of under 500 miles just make it to the terminal and Ill turn in my truck.. so guess what lol.. the next run was a 183 mile run from FL to GA... so guess where their truck went? Striaght from Jacksonville, FL to Ocala,FL their terminal and a 1hr rant from me to their Driver supervisor on why I wanted to quit.

Dunno if any of that helps lol , but I guess everyone can learn something from someones experiences.
