Well yes he is driving regional without the "benefit" of regional such as home weekend and a but more cpm. When you are driving 200 miles a day at 31 cpm... things don't add up even slowly. Oh well. At least with him nearby I can drive to him.

The majority of experienced drivers given the chance will avoid the northeast mainly because of the congestion. Companies counter the problem by offering like 2 cpm extra. There has to be a happy medium between pay and miles. Okay I'll do this short run a time or two but I deserve a long run in the mix.
The thing is your husband is new and he has to pay his dues of sorts. Get 6 months-1 year in with completion of your school obligation then there will many greener pastures in front of you. There are several types of trucking in the industry and one has to find their niche in the industry to be the happiest. Almost every driver can tell you stories of struggling their first year. Then the real fun begins. -
Strugling with no pay is one thing, running around cuz no one knows where their trailors are is another. Lying to incoming students and sending all newbies northeast (with 3 days otr training is another) they know how to make you late so they don't have to pay you miles! It not a good time to start with big trucking companys! They pull them in for the gov money then throw them to the wolves so they can pay their experienced drivers and keep the company afloat in Americas crappy economy! Its all about money and newbies who just wanna be a truck driver get pushed out for profit! At the expense of Americas safety on our roads GREED is UGLY!! But its the American way now.

FYI, I am now a "pick your own freight O/O for SNI " I see SNI load board (what they let us see) and the reason they get stuck in the NE is because in order to get out of there you have to take a cheap load, plus there is a lot of good paying loads up there so SNI probably wants to get as many runs in from a driver when they are up there that way it evens out their dollars before they let a driver out on a cheap load. It's not set in stone sometimes there is good loads out but not to often. Just saying! Sometimes it helps to understand it's nothing personal against the driver it's all about business.
P.S Keep in mind why it is important to call the DBL. They forget about you! They have many other drivers and meetings and stuff they are doing so they have to be reminded your there! Also the planners run the truck to be profitable it is up to your DBL to step in when it is not profitable for the driver and get him on some long loads. -

In a schneider truck why would you try to pass especially with ongaurd lol- dunno cuz I have never drove a rig, typically how many hours do you have to set and wait to get your oders to find empty trailor? seems to be a really long wait always? people quit cuz no one knows where the trailors are? why does that happen with empty trailor chaos? why does it take forever to get your next order loaded to your qualcom? what is the process to get orders to driver? for runs and emtys? why so long?
