Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

So you have heard that they average getting home several times a week?
-
For the most part its running from the DC to the store and back, with the occasional backhaul. So if you live near the DC you have the potential to be home a couple of times a week -if the loads work out.
-
well, the account I'm on now I know for a fact that at least 2 of the 5 that were hired on about 3 months ago got the cdl's this year. AND on Monday 2 new guys start with us. SO 4 of 7 for sure. I'll find out about the other 4. I just know you are DYING to know!!!
As for the comment about the slip seating, yes there was a regional 6/3 that interested me due to the regular hometime. 3 drivers , 2 trucks. worked well enough, just couldn't hang with the pay. 3 weeks in a row with 3 days off in that pay week didn't work for me. SO I stuck with it until something better opened up that better suited my needs and wants. Best decision I made. To stick it out that is. Establishing solid work history with a trucking company, they are paying down my loan to get my CDL and I'm home EVERY WEEKEND and for the most part I am home probably 98% of the time during the week too. Think I have slept in the truck no more than 8 times this year?
I know, it sucks to be me. -
IDLE SENSOR QUESTION
I am leaving 7/16 to ATL for the Dedicated HD account (In McCalla)...Does anyone know if the SNI trucks at the McCalla, AL location have the infamous idle/ambient sensor?? -
I'm sure they do. You can idle though, below 20 degrees and above 70 just not in between. The thing is at what percentage does your specific account allow before you start getting dinged on bonus potential. I would expect being in the south with higher humidity and heat you should get a higher percentage? I cant say for sure, one of the southern drivers would have to chime in on that one.originaltonytrucker Thanks this.

Wow.....that sucks! I am excited about coming to SNI....But this IDLE SENSOR thing is making some other job offers look a tad bit better ......bottom line is i just want about a year OTR...but NOT IN A HOT/FREEZING TRUCK!!! LOL
and from reading other posts it seems that the battery is not an extended Duracell....LOL

NO your job is awesome mickeyrat, how long after you hired on did you get dedicated? Also I notice in the flyer he posted, unlike online, it doesnt mention you have to live 70 miles from the location? Pretty sure ya got to be in certain mile radius to get a dedicated?
-
hold off til a couple southern guys chime in. As I said, you will be able to idle to stay cool at 70 or above. Intially you may get a well broke in truck, but all the new guys on my account have 2011 or newer cascadias. I seem to have the oldest on our account with my 2010 century.
Heat wont be an issue. As long as it works right, those bunk heaters will roast you out if youre not careful.
With this account,. it sounds like you'll get home a couple nights a week plus weekends. That's a whole lot better than OTR in my opinion, but others may have other ideas. You can always switch accounts or divisions after 90 days or 6 months. SNI has their faults just like other companies. But the freight IS there. Good place to start IMO.originaltonytrucker Thanks this. -
Mickeyrat how long at schneider until you got dedicated route?
