I agree this is part of the hate for big rigs. Just like the town in ga.(warner robins) decided they did not want trucks in the city limits so they banned them. They may find out ...........
What are supposed to be the benefits of the new HOS? I see none

Just too bad truckers will have to pay for more gov. Experiments . Any one that does not see whats going on here needs to wake up! Anne ferro has said she wants to further reduce your hours !! I have the article from the trucker newspaper.

Now bear in mind that LaHood (Now retired)...Ferro....Joan Claybrook....PATT....And the Teamsters, are pushing for even more stringent regs....The goal is an 8 Hour Duty Day Total!!!!
That 's 8 hours to drive and perform your duties as a driver.......
What this will do...Bring the end to the Single Pony O/O running OTR.....A long time goal of the some various groups......airforcetoo Thanks this. -
Not interested in a political view or anything like that.
But, I wonder if they have really looked at the end result of this "plan".airforcetoo Thanks this. -
-
Nevertheless....Between the Gov't hacks.....The Special Interest Groups..and The Teamsters....The "European Model" or stricter regs.....Are what they are aiming for.....
Why did they push for the "New" HOS for 2003 and then head right back to court to push for more stringent rules?
Even now with the new rules...... (Half hour break within 8 hours of beginning duty and two consecutive 1 am to 6am 34 hour restart once every 168 period....) The special interest groups aren't happy.....The rules aren't strict enough for their liking.....
Don't you recall when Claybrook proposed a "9-5....Mon-Fri" national trucking schedule last year? -
airforcetoo and moosc Thank this.

These new HoS suck. If I stop for a 30 minute break when I don't need one, I end up more tired than before I took the break. What's next? Mandatory exercise?
