I love my smartphone, I use it all the time.....
I did however notice a family having dinner the other day, all of them completely absorbed in the palm devices...
Not much communication between those at the table, as those at the table were completely engrossed with communicating with those not at the table.
Do loadboards all have brokers posting the loads

Oh yeah, certainly a big problem in the world we live in now. I hate trying to carry a conversation with someone who spends more time looking at the stupid phone.
Trucking communication seems to be moving rapidly in the 'smartassphone' direction though. Even I, as old school as I am, sometimes send an email to get information about a load and then the confirmation is emailed to me without any verbal communication. I don't like it but some younger generation do. It just comes easier for them I suppose. -
For me, the internet is a huge resource....
The days of relying on someone in an office are long gone.
I can do everything I need to with a laptop, wireless printer, scanner, and cell phone.
I don't get the whole non verbal thing, I'd rather discuss stuff over the phone than just doing the texting thing. -
In the hauling I do, I like making the call and speak to a person about the ld.
Then you can email me the paperwork. -
