RR Donnelly and Sons - York, PA

With my last company I delivered to RR Donnelly once sometimes twice a week and they got me right away.But that was in Lewisille,TX.Don't have a clue what their loading is like.

 

You should've told me, my brother-in-law and niece both work there. I could've pulled some strings. Nah I doubt it, they both work first shift.

 

Most of that stuff is mail advertisements or newspaper inserts. Went to one & there were Playboy centerfold pictures scattered everywhere; fork lift running over them, they were everywhere. I didn't even care enough to ask about it, just wanted to get rolling. Nice long run to Buffalo, then a backhaul from Ocean Spray headed to Nashville. Never had problems at Donnelly, loading or unloading.

 

I've been there too. 10-12 he's of waiting for the load, then, just enough time to get the load to the destination. My loads usually went to Boston Post-Office or Providence, RI Post-Office.

 

There are a few RR Donnellys here in MN that we pick up or deliver to. Mailers like them can be a pain in the rear to deal with. Believe or not one of the reasons a person could be sitting waiting to get loaded could be as trivial as waiting for a check to clear at the PO for the postage for the flyers you're waiting to load. We've had a LOT of loads cancelled and rescheduled for the next day because of this reason. The Post Office doesn't care.

 

i know how post offices can be. i do a run once in a while from detroit lakes to bemedji and not fun when the post office closes. one driver has to stay until 8am to drop off some newspapers that the post office wont take until then. even though they take the first one at 2am, so he has to sit six hours. btw sublime, ever deliver to the forum in detroit lakes?
