Sammons transportation, OTR open deck. I am pretty sure that is where I am going, was headed for Hunt ( Crete/Schaffaer ) but am leaning to Sammons unless I find out something bad in the next week or so. Their CSA ain't great, but so far that is the only bad thing I have found.

That's awesome, yeah a lot of guys say their leasing agreement is pretty good. A lot better than some of the places out here

I wasn't really looking to lease but that's what I have to do to go there. I am tired of sitting out not earning. Sammons drivers are self dispatched so if I am sitting its my own problem. They do have a good lease deal from what I can see, I will find out soon.

Gave my notice a week ago after 4+ years a ROEHL. I've got butterflies about leaving but felt forced out by all the anti driver decisions the past two years, routing and topping out on the pay scale the new job is hauling brand new trucks out of Laredo and other terminals to the lower 48. No elog. No forced routing or forced dispatch. If the pay is what I'm led to believe it is, it will be my best job ever. Driving under o/o rules with no truck pmnt.

Good luck with the new job, I agree there area a lot of anti driver decisions going on there. When I went back to Roehl I thought it was a long term move, lasted 7 months before their new rules got to me. When I was in Gary they told me I was the fourth one that day that left.

So far my new gig is going well. Been running with the day guy for a week. Pretty easy stuff, Fort Wayne to Indy and back. 2 days running a single load, 3 days running a double load. Single days 6-7 hours, doubles 12-13 hours. Did about 54 hours this week. 14 OT plus Holiday pay. :) Im liking it.

Oh and Ive seen Roehl reefers at both of our facilities darn near everyday. :)

Good for you Tree.....My carrier after Roehl is still my favorite...I am home every week give or take a couple days....and the percentage pay is killer...I make pretty good money....but I am giving it all up to go back to school...I am working on an engineering degree and its about time to finish it....so I will be leaving Van Wyk sometime in August...I am probably going to stay on as Part Part time...and work when I can, cause I can make 400 bucks a weekend easy...it just depends on how much homework I have...will probably work over the long breaks...(if I don't have my little people)...

Ok I officially finish training tomorrow and begin my route solo on Sunday.

Im still a little ashamed of door closing, but Im getting over it. :) Pretty cold where I work, we have to keep the reefers at -20, which is apparently the warehouse temp as well. Brrrr.
