First time through there, I was going downhill during the evening rush, going from Johnstown back to 70 west with a load of metal coils in spools loaded on a reefer, heavy and supposedly set up not to slide.
I had a truck with s 10 speed Eaton-Fuller Ultrashift, that liked to go from free wheeling to reverse, I think, in stop and go downhill traffic. On that day I named the truck Sunfish for the sideways twisting jump that a saddle bronc sometimes makes while trying to throw the rider.
It shifted the load, too, I don't know how everything stayed together, but that one did, others that were equipped the same, not so much. -
My first time was around 5pm on a Friday... what a blast!albert l Thanks this.

Haven't been through the PGH tunnels for a long time...just take it easy and watch the road for potholes or anything that could make you bounce, especially if empty or real light.
albert l Thanks this. -
I live just east of the tunnels. You're good to go. Watch the lane restrictions. You'll be fine.

Should be alright with a 13' 6" trailer.... but just in case wear a mouth guard....

Been through there myself. No worries.

Come on now, it isn't THAT bad lol... At my last company I traveled through Pittsburgh quite a bit. Would pick up in Crafton or Leetsdale and towards the end I went to a place on 2nd Ave. a few times... that sucked but oh well.
What is fun is going I-376 East and wanting to get onto PA-28 North. Before the Fort Pitt get in left lane, jump to the far left lane right after tunnel, you then go around the corner and jump to the far right lane and take the first exit. Pretty fun when there's a lot of traffic
. And that 55 mph speed limit... keep it at 65 or under and don't be driving stupid and the cops usually won't bother you.

When I left from being on my hometime in Pittsburgh in January it was right after a blizzard and I figured by the time I got to the squirrel hill tunnel all the snow would've fell off the trailer. O how wrong I was. The over height sign flashed as I came down the hill and the tunnel arrows turned red. Had to wait to the tunnel authority to come out let me go.
