Sorry to see you go but congrats on finding a place. I've heard a lot of people talking about how slow our freight is right now. I hope it turns around soon but I have to confess Im starting to look for something else. I just can't justify the low paychecks. I do love the company though. June 29th was my one year anniversary date.

Picked up in Tenn and don't deliver until Fri morning so Im spending the 4th at home.

I appreciate it, it hasn't been too slow for me personally, it's just that I've heard that SCA out way is pretty slow right now so they couldn't commit. Obviously with any place you go it will depend on who you get as a dispatcher and your work ethic, but my dispatcher is top notch, and I'll be sorry to let him go. He even gave me a great reference for my rent and didn't have to. That says everything to me. It is a great place to work if everything falls in place for you.

That's too bad Weeble. Either way you've done us all a service in this thread and I'm sure Wolding will hate to see you go.

I'm off till next Wednesday, gonna be able to park my truck at home because they had me bobtail in.

I appreciate it sir. Let's see, where did I leave off...spent the 4th on the lake in Bridgton with my friends for the last time in the foreseeable future. That's always a good time. Bought a hand held bug zapper, and after a 12 pack, that's some good fun. The rest of the week I spent cleaning stuff out of my room and spending time with the family.

Left out this morning after selling my car. Picked up an empty in South Portland and dropped it at Hollis where I picked up my loaded going to Baldwinsville, NY. 48,779 lb of agua, and NH101 to VT9 to I91 south back down to 90 because getting out of Maine was a circus to say the least. There were some steep grades along the way, had to drop to 5th a couple of times, but it was fun to take those winding back roads. Once on 90, I was in heavy rain from Albany to just east of Syracuse. A real long day today, 11 hours of driving, but only managed 523 miles. Ugh.

Just wanted to say thank you again to TimeCook and Weeble for all the valuable information you have provided. Hubby has been in his own truck now for 2 weeks, just dropped a load in Neenah and is sitting in the yard at Amherst for maintenance. Hoping to get a load back to Cherokee, AL so he can get home by Friday. The truck he got isn't bad, a 2004 Freightliner. Although he is still complaining about having to pick the long blonde hairs out of it from the gal who had it before him.LOL. So far, he hasn't had a 2000 mile week yet and we are hoping it improves as time goes by. He is running Southeastern Regional Plus for Wolding. He has told me that he HATES getting anywhere near Chicago and Nashville as far as traffic and he's still learning how to find a spot to park at night. He thought he'd hate paper logs since his trainer's truck had e-logs but he says he thinks he prefers it. The truck has almost a million miles on it now, so he is hoping to get a newer truck eventually.

Weeble, I'm sorry to see you leave as you have been a wealth of information for us and thank goodness Timecook is still hanging around! Don't know what dispatcher you have Weeble, but it sounds like its been a good experience. He has Kim and is still in the getting to know her phase but he hasn't really had any complaints thus far, other than we really really need them to give him more miles!

I appreciate the kind words Lady. I have Shawn as a dispatcher and all of the other drivers that I know that have him wouldn't have another dispatcher. Don't know much about Kim, but I know if I have a load that is a drop and hook, like SCA, let dispatch know as soon as possible when you'll deliver and when you'll be ready to run (ETA/PTA). Send a free form message before you deliver asking if they have anything for. Communication is key to success in any walk of life, and it's no different in this industry. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

Didn't get a pre plan until about noon today. A broker load from Gouveneur, NY going to Green Bay for Wednesday. After that I'll get my truck serviced and my APU up and running again. I don't mind idling, it's just that I feel (and probably look) like an ### doing that with an APU. Be safe all.

It's a surprise! Just kidding, once I know I'm all moved out to Oregon and I'm for sure set up for orientation, I'll start the new thread. I don't wanna start counting my chickens before the eggs hatch. Not gonna lie, as much as I really don't want to leave here, I'm getting anxious to get started.

    Hint: I'll need more training.
