Left pedal is the clutch, the middle pedal is the brake, and the far right pedal is the gas. The big round thing in front of the drivers seat is still the steering wheel. If you have a long trailer take wide turns. Short trailer not so much of a wide turn. Easy on the air brakes. Gently press them until you are use to them. Also the 4 wheelers back when you use to drive. Probably were scared of trucks. Now they try to see how close they can get to you so they can post it on their youtube channel. Or call their lawyer so they can be in the next. Truck accident commercial with their big check. Everything else should come back to you after you put that 9 or 10 speed in the big hole. Let us know how it goes.

ask for 10-15 minutes to drive around the parking lot. I got back into the truck Mar 2012 and I went out with a trainer for the first time. He gave me about 5 minutes to get used to the truck and shift pattern. Halfway to our destination, he was crawling into the sleeper to go to bed.

It's just like riding a bike. If you knew what you were doing before, it'll come back to you quickly.

That is what i am thinking to it will come back to me ,i know every truck i ever got into the shifting takes a bit to figure out with out grinding, and i guess that is what i don't want to do,but i'm sure he has seen it and done it before him self.I hope i get in a truck with a 13 speed though lol.

Don't float the gears, even if you are the world's best. Most companies like to see you use the clutch when shifting.

Something to think about,i never used a clutch before except stopping and starting, might even ask The owner what he prefers in his trucks.

I talked to a recruiter at a company. He told me he recently road tested a guy who used the clutch when shifting. The recruiter said he thought it was unusual. So, you never know.
