Thought this was worth the new thread.
What I noticed yesterday getting back in the truck after 60 hrs off was this, restart showed complete at 0500 sunday with next eligible at 1900 on Friday. Now I began my break at about 1200 last Friday and as I understand this new rule the next restart should start at the same time I logged off duty this past Friday. Instead it appears they have counted backwards from the end of the restart.
Just something to be aware of if you take extended time.

oh yeah, BEFORE you approve your logs, make the decision if you are going to keep or reject the restart. If you approve your logs it will auto-accept the restart.
ethos Thanks this. -
Hey Mickey, mine says the same exact thing and I also went off duty at around 12 or 1. As the new rule reads, the next 34 reset is supposed to be avail 168 hours after the start of your last reset. The 5am sunday part is correct because of the stupid 2 periods of 1-5am but I don't understand why it's showing that next avail reset is 1900 on Friday. Wonder if next week, it will still show 1900 on the following Friday or another time? have to keep an eye on it and see what happens.

Didn't know that, thanks for the info.

exactly, so Qcomm or SNI is robbing us of the option to start it sooner if needed. Will be bringing this up to Bob.

If you went off duty at 1300 on a Friday, and reset your 70 at 0500 on Sunday, then the period of your restart was the 34 hour period from Friday 1900 until Sunday at 0500.
It's still a 34 hour restart.
In essence, you can't start a 34 hour restart unless it is between 1900 and 0100, since at any other time it would take more than 34 hours before a restart could be legally completed. If you go off duty before 1900 you would have regular off duty time until 1900, at which point the 34 would start. So the QC is right, your next restart can start at 1900 Friday. You can go off duty before that time, but the 34 hour clock won't start ticking until then.DrtyDiesel and EggoTrucker Thank this. -
I think this mandatory 30 min rest break is BS. All it does to me is cause me to work 30 mins longer than I otherwise would have, hence making me just a tick more tired at the end of my day.
Next up from FMCSA: Mandatory bathroom breaks every hour, with at least two #2's a day. All in the name of safety. -
Right, cause we haven't discussed this one yet.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
How is causing you to work more? Shouldn't be no different then before except it's mandatory. SNI already wanted you take a couple 30 min breaks. The only thing I don't like I'd having to mage sure is 30 min and not 28 min.

It sucks, but ill get used to it. Been running since 6/28 without a reset so I ain't complaining. Recap coming back every day.
When I do have to reset, if its more than 34 hours I sit, I probably won't complain since I just got a new laptop, ill be able to play some Black Ops 2 with my friends wherever I'm at
