or however its spelled...i just got the results back from swifts medical review saying i tested positive for thc. 22nhg but i havent smoked any of it in over 12 yrs. the company will only let me retest the second sample from the original batch, at a cost of $150.00. I was around someone who smoked it a week before i tested i checked on the web prior to testing and everywhere it claims second hand smoke doesnt show up on the test but it dam sure did on mine. Im so freaking upset on this as it has ended the possibility of ever getting a trucking job. I was taking some heavy doses of tylenol and a migraine medicine a few weeks before the test the web says they can show up as false positives but the medical doctor said its not possible.

i know some of you will be negative about this saying i did it or whatever so keep those comments to your self please. already stressed and frustrated enough as is.

If any one has any helpful advice as to why this happened or what i can do legally about it as i cant have that on my record as many of you know it is impossible to get a OTR trucking job with that on your dac/record. I know of no local jobs in the state of arizona that hires anyone with out at least a year to 2 years experiance. hoping someone here has had a same situation that had gotten it resolved or still got employed. I dont have my cdl again i had it in 2006 but left the industry for ahwile, i do have the permit and recent medical done.
thanks in advance for any positive feed back

Did you take any prescription medicine by any chance? What type of Tylenol or migraine meds did you take? I do not know what to say on this one. If you could talk to another doctor for a second opinion that might help.

Get a hair follicle test. If that's clean and they won't back down get legal counsel.

Shouldn't have put your self in the situation of being around someone who smokes pot if you knew you would be taking a drug test for a new job in the future. You have no one to blame but yourself on this one.

If you were around people smoking you could technically test positive if who ever swift contracts to conduct tests uses a low threshold usually most labs test a 50ng or it could be due to a shoddy lab if i were you i would fork over the money to re-test and make sure they send the test to a different lab and if those come back negative you could possible have them reimburse you for the test

Also if you dont do anything and it goes onto your record and you wait say a week or so maybe even days it will be harder to dispute the test as a prospective employeer could see it as an attempt to clear your system....

If you really didn't smoke marijuana and tested positive and want to get into trucking, you have little choice but to challenge the test. I would also find another lab to do the testing and a hair follicle test would give the real story. You can test positive for several months with a hair follicle test. Labs can make mistakes. If I knew that I had not taken drugs and received a positive test result, you can bet that I would be challenging the test and demand a retest.

tylenol was 500mg and a few were actually for arthritis pain ran out of reg tylenol the migraine pill im not sure of what type my friend gave me a few she had..i asked them if i could go do another ua on my own and said no. I did take 2 prescription pain killers not sure of the name but they were not my prescriptions. after a little further search on the net i read that a nexium (the purple pill) for heartburn may also cause a positive result and took one of those about a week and a half prior.

only option was to test the second sample they have from the first batch. have to see how much a hair follicle test would run me as i dont have much money left right now.

but thanks for your replys so far

Well lets see here. You took a few "migraine pills" that a "friend" gave you. You took two prescription pain killers that were not your prescriptions and you don't even know what they were.

Yep. We really do need to see you behind the wheel.

Take your drug abuse to a different field that trucking.

it takes for them about one month to put it on your dac report. so quicly head to Werner or some other place.

look for CDL B local jobs. they dont use dac. ull be making more money than otr. we straight truck drivers hate otr.
