So, I was driving into the small town I live in and was pulled over half a block from my apartment for not wearing a seatbelt. I will pay the fine, and yes, I realize I was disobeying the law. Will this have an impact on my ability to get hired driving a truck?
Thanks, Tyler

Nothing you can about it now. Time will tell. Just keep your nose clean, and your belt on!
I think you should be ok though.TylerVS Thanks this. -
It shouldn't since it is not considered a "moving violaton"Last edited: Jul 11, 2013

I have a seatbelt violation from 2010 that wasnt a problem in me getting hired.

sometimes those little towns just want the money and doesn't show up on your record. I would rather hire someone with a seatbelt violation than a speeder. You'll be fine.

I would anonymously ask a recruiter (I'd say it doesn't matter which company really, all the mega's have similar policies) if that kind of ticket even needs to be mentioned on an application. I believe they only ask for moving violations though, and that isn't.

I got one in Texas it was 2 points this was in my personal veh. They said it was a moving violation.
TylerVS and otherhalftw Thank this. -
Pennsylvania they can't pull you over for a seltbelt in a personal vehicle

Gasp. You sir are going to burn for not wearing that restraint device in your vehicle, now volcanoes are going to erupt, the ice in Antarctica is going to all melt, we are going to have a gigantic flood, and the sun is going to explode shame on you!
Its a seatbelt violation in your personal vehicle as long as its not points, and was not listed as a moving violation you should be alright. Remember to keep it on in your tractor as you don't want that crap going on your record after you get a job driving a truck. I don't see this being a problem they're more worried about accidents, drug violations, and speeding tickets. Keep that clean and you should be set. Although points hurt, speeding tickets hurt, and accidents are a death sentence I don't see too much coming of a seat belt violation.TylerVS and mastrassassin Thank this. -
You will be fine. I got one in 09 in my car.
