that school is really more interested in teaching heavy equip. they do the cdl training as a second thought.
the difference between the courses is the written test. if you are smart enough to read the book and take the test and go get a physical on your own you would only need the short class. That said there are better options. if you got the time Waukesha County Tech College does CDL training, but it will take a whole semester.
Millis seems to have a pretty good program, I know a couple guys who run for them and love it.
Also in Wis if you are a do it yourselfer who only wants a CDL and then off to other things, there is a place called Pro CDL. They charge you per training hour. If you think you can get the hang of it in 10 hours and then take the test in a rented truck, (they rent them) you can get it for cheap. They claim to have a list of companies that will hire their "grads" do your homework though. I called around and couldn't find any that would take you without going back through their school. small companies or dump operators might take you though.
