OP already said he is parking on street--and of course where his problems are--Now my question is where are you running and do u have a half assed decent car--there are a few decent(pay to park stops)not far from bridge on jersey side--if u can--ride down Bellive Pike in S kearney and the area around--Skyview Diner and Dynamic--behind Tulos and RUbes--quite a few fenced locked pay to parks--May not be the greatest but better than service road of 95 between the river and the driving range--Also couple in Queens--but hate to see you have to pay 2 bridge tolls to get in and out of there just to park........

You don't tug on Superman's cape, You don't spit into the wind, Don't park in NY if your going to get out of your truck. North NY is pretty safe, the city is asking for it. I saw a video once how a crew in a pick up can take a tractor apart in under 2 hours. Load all of the sellable things on another truck with a trailer & be gone. I am banned from NY, I carry a gun. I live in my truck 6 weeks at a time. 2nd amendment the right to bear arms. I never get on the east side anymore. The Communist country of Ohio is as far as I go. Now I don't even do that. I'm retired, till someone wants to make me an offer I cant refuse.

Living in a high crime area why would you take a load home? I live in the country and wouldn't bring a load home. Things can be timed where you come home empty.
As a dispatcher I would make sure you had a secure place. So evidently he isn't doing his job.

Park on the Jersey side where you aren't paying high tolls. The risk is still high but at least there are a few truck stops over there.

OTR doesn't pay enough to live in NYC. That's like mixing oil and water. You might be use to it but there are so many better places to live if you are a trucker. For what you pay for a 1 bedroom there you can live in a mansion somewhere else. :)

You're better off parking at Vince Lomabrdi service area..short run into Hunts from there.

You mean Webster Ave and 233 St? Heres a satellite view of the area down the street from the BP and there must be over 20 tractor trailers parked on the street. Screen Shot 2016-11-12 at 6.47.21 PM.png
