Eagle Express Lines. A good company

Hey sevenmph, how would you know if your runs are gonna be taken away from you? Do they give you a heads up, give you another run or left u in the dark? My hubby heard some gossip that his route will not last.. Just a little bit worried since we are planning to buy a house. I hope eagle takes care of their people

 

Hi everyone, I got hired by Eagle 2 weeks ago and returned from Chicago after orientation and haven't started work yet. They didn't want me to give my previous employer a 2 week notice and made me sign a form at orientation stating I did not have other employment. Now I sit with NO income. I've called to find out what's going on and sometimes I'm able to talk to someone, other times I leave messages and they go unreturned. I still do not have my postal I.D. and am waiting for them to contact me to find out where to get it. I think this is terrible communication on their part. Is this normal company practices? I'm getting worried cause I could have stayed at my previous employer until they were ready for me.

My husband waited for almost 2 1/2 months..( application to hiring to driving).postal badge takes forever he even started driving without it. What i did was sent an email to hr i think they respond more through there.after that they ship him for orientation, roadtest then started working. Hey believe me i was worried if he was ever gonna get hired but after that email it was smooth sailing( i believed i left voicemails every week) we'd rather sound like a person thats eager to work than somebody who is not interested in getting hired. When he got approved with his application and drugtest etc... he left his min wage job, was unemployed for 2 months.so we had it bad than you. Did you pass your roadtest yet?

 

Yes, did that before going to Chicago. Everything is done except getting the postal I.D. I have talked to dispatch and H.R. and it seems like I'm getting the runaround. Can't believe this is how they treat you. If they would at least have kept me in the loop so I knew when I'm starting.

 

You might be running teams and there still waiting for your partner but i could be wrong. Where is your run?
My hubby got his picture taken on one of the post ofc and was issued a temp id before getting it on the mail. background checks usually slows it down, like dui's and criminal records etc.Anyway it looks like they are hiring a lot of guys right now. Be patient hope you get the job!

 

I'm not running teams. The run is from Toledo to Chicago. A driver from Philadelphia comes to Toledo. They gave us everything we would need to get our I.D.'s, just need a location that does it. I would think all the background checks etc. would have been done before they sent me to Chicago. I can't be patient I have bills. I wasn't planning on this happening. I've never been hired by a company and not started right away.

 

Thats whAt they told him solo but now its team.. Dont know what else to tell you but my husband is happy at eagle..

 

Maybe they are not answering you because they may not want to hire you. Did you pass road test? They called me the other day wanting me to go for physical and drug test. I'm trying to find out from other drivers at eagle wether it's worth my while

 

What city does your husband run out of? I'm glad to hear he likes it too.

I'm calling first thing Monday morning if I can get a hold of a live person and asking them to give me an answer once and for all as to when I'm starting. This will be my last attempt.
