Don't worry troop; military does well out here.

 

Im curious about tmc myself i have heard there drivers make $800-1000 after taxes, i would gladly switch where im at now for that kind of money I know the work is harder but hey for that kind of money i shovel horse manure all day. I just want to know what to expect as far as pay wise, also the only thing open in tampa area is a dedicated run anyone have info on what these are like. Didn't mean to steal your tread best of luck to you in Iowa and thanks for your service to our country.

 

I cannot speak for anyone else, but when I worked there (2 months) I would take home anywhere between $700-1200. Average would be around $800-1000. The $900+ was working my ### off pulling crappy loads all week with maybe one good/decent load to help bring up my pay a little more. I also usually left my house Monday morning around 2am and didn't get home until Saturday afternoon. Sometimes I was able to leave Sunday afternoon and get home Friday night (with only 10-30 minutes left on my log). But, usually even if I left Sunday afternoon I would still get home Saturday afternoon so I gave up on that.

 

Towards the end I was more in the 700-800 take home range and for as hard as I felt I worked it wasn't worth it in my eyes. Although those were the weekends I was home for a little more than 34 hours. Also, I was done with flatbedding. I decided to try flatbed to see what its like and if I wanted to buy my own and run flat someday. I figured out I'd rather do tanker or dry van instead, tanker would be for if I go O/O.

I had a good opportunity to work for an LTL company one week after I got my truck. I decided to try and stick it out to see if it was worth me staying at TMC and I just don't see myself staying with TMC for very long anyways so I cut out and am now going to LTL. If I was told of this opportunity a few weeks before I probably would not have been at TMC anyways.

 

I have been accepted by TMC to start training in their Waseon OH school. Anyone else starting in Sept? Interested in hearing about the training etc.
