    Hey guys,

I have about 3,000 miles on my in-frame and it seems to be running real good. The one thing I'm having problems with is a random "Check Engine Light" coming on. It will stay off for a whole day and then the next day it will be on sometimes and off other times. I checked it with the cruise button and it come up as a Code 42. Check Cam Timing Calibration. How can I do this?

    Thanks for the help,

    Bill

it's probably a chafed wire on the cam timing sensor...

if you replaced the head the gear lash will be off on the cam idler gear if it wasn't checked. wont hurt anything it goes into default timing. to keep running. or you may have to calibrate the timing with the probe that screws into the side of block. that takes et and the probe to do.

Thanks Superhauler! I did check the gear back lash and set it at .008". Is there anything I can do without the probe and ET?

.008 is in my opinion to much. try to get it around .004 to .005
