    Picked this up from Pharr.

Guy on the forklift told me the straps aren't going to work, that they won't do anything. Told me to run chains through the front and read crane holes. Which I was going to do anyway.

Had to end up running both chains through the back holes since I don't have a chain long enough to go through the front holes. I tried it, even hooked my ratchet binder to a pocket behind the run rail and then the other end to the chain, still too short. So I just ran them both through the back.

I'm only using the chains and the front strap for rearward force. The other straps I used for downward force. Anyone got any other tips for securing this? I got 30,200lbs of securement on this 18,200# piece. So I figured that much plus how I have it set on the product, it won't be going anywhere

Run a chain from each side to the middle of the two pieces and connect the chains there. I had to do that before with a piece before. I'll post pics from my phone.

I've got one hook attached to the other chain, then wrapped the remaining chain around the first chain and hooked the second chain then. Hope this makes sense.

I hope American Trucker likes it at Averitt. Also, if he is reading this I have a message to him:

Stay there and make a career there. They will treat you well knowing you're work ethic. You do options to go far with that company. Best of luck.

Yeah AZS just told me to do that too. What about running a chain up each side and connecting them together at the middle with a binder? Would that be ok? I ask because at Roehl the guy who trained me on securement told me you couldn't hook two chains together like that, of course it was probably just his way of doing things and not fact.

That just seems like too much work. I wouldn't do it that way.

I'm on my fourth straight load that has had to be tarped. I'm EXHAUSTED!

I did and Holly told me they were waiting for my reference sheet to come back from my current company. She said she'd call me, I don't want to be "that guy" that bugs her all the time.
