I'm hoping for a reset in Jacksonville so I don't wind up in a similar situation... If I average 59mph I'll arrive just before a midnight with 2 hours on my 70 (picking up 4 more at midnight & 2 the day after if I were to recap). If I average 63 I'll have 5.5 on my 70 which combined with the 4 would tempt a short-sighted dispatcher to give me a crummy load and leave me stranded the next day with 2 hours (but probably with a botched 1-4am).
Besides, the lower speed will make up for some idling. And I can rent a car and play tourist -- maybe even dip my toes into the Atlantic for the first time.

Heck .... I can never get a load in or out of Topton that requires placards
also I believe when dropping DOT requires the placards on until the trailer is unloadeddouble yellow Thanks this. -

Guardrails are useful in an emergency. Get the rig parked and hit it!

Ever since a co-driver left me 650 miles from a shipper with missing placards (blown out of holders), I've always 409'ed a swatch before sticking the placards directly to the trailer. Once you get a corner free, the placards come off in one piece if you make sure to pull at 90* from the crease.
--Eloy, AZYardDart and mustang970 Thank this. -
