Red earth creek? Lol
-
It worked for me.

I was already in Red Earth and yes you are right to break into it you do have to stay away from most of the main city areas. Though there is lots of work up Fort Mac area I have stayed away from all that big talk crap because everyone and there dog thinks there going to make oh so much money there. Well yeah you do but when you start figuring in your groceries being more expensive and living expenses all that adds up to a big amount being taken off.
If one was to actually figure all that crap out they may make at the end of it all a couple dollars more but that is about it so I just do not care to do it myself as I feel I am not a slave. If you are able to get on with a good camp up there that supplies all that then it gets to be a bit more better but that is a big if as mentioned above everyone and there dog is looking for the same thing.
Red Deer, Drayton Valley and Grand Prarie should pick up soon here.Last edited: Jul 18, 2013

Thanks for all insights from all hard working people here. Good luck to all. This site really helps me a lot.

Class1 which company/companies are the offers from? I know lloyd is really busy for my company and so is biche.
-
From trican, but not finalized yet. I am easy at locations, so long there is enough work to earn some bucks, and better yet a chance to move upward.

Rent isn't cheap in Lloyd, but nowhere near ft Mac levels. Lloyd is busy year round, although I can't speak for Trican and their work level. Cost of living is decent, you have two provinces to shop in for tax breaks right in one town lol.
I chose to live in one of the small towns nearby and my housing is much more reasonable that way. I ended up with work walking distance from my home and have been very happy with how it worked out for me. I'm offered other jobs on a regular basis, but am staying where I am.
Lots of other good options out there, just thought a little feedback might help you evaluate this one. -
There's no sales Tax on the east (Sask) side of Lloyd is there?
