If I was going to put a different engine in a truck it would be a pre 2003, that way you would be completely pre-emission, your head aches would go way down.

Yeah I've been trying to figure up the cost of it all

I've been looking into gliders for the last month I'm not happy at all with Fitzgerald JT is my salesman I've talked with many times they won't do 23,k axles they won't do lift axles and they don't even sound like they want to spec a truck with 373 rears and I'm wanting more than 1650Tq. I was priced at $121,900 with a 18 speed when I first called I was quoted $118,500 and $137,000 on a pete so there prices are going up....and don't have many options

Change is coming. There will be a slew of states that adopt the CARB EPA regs. I was in Jersey a couple months back, at the TA in Columbia, over there by the gap... They, (State of NJ), had EPA inspectors examining trucks and looking at VIN#'s and educating the inspectors....
It sucks. -
NJ has been doing side of the road emissions testing for decades. The variables are different based on the engine age. Nothing new really.
If it does happen the phase in period will be over many years like CA, and I'd expect more of a court challenge than CA was given. -
I still do not understand how they will enforce everything post Jan 1 2014? Even then would expect some court challenges.
If the voters out there only had a clue as to how much this is costing them. But at some point there debt has to have a limit doesn't it?
Talk to these guys. http://www.truckcentersinc.com/locations/troy
They did not have much love for Fitzgerald & seemed to know what they were talking about here in Springfield. Troy, IL down by St. Louis is a larger facility & maybe they can meet the specs you want with less hassle.
