What would you guys think is fair pay for a good guy starting out in flatbed??
I've hauled heavy equipment, and done a few local loads for my buddy (Step and straight)
I currently operate a Heavy Tow Truck, But a change might be happening if the offer is good.
Local guy offered .40 a mile to start. Hauls alot of dedicated pipe to job sites.
No weekends, No holidays. No BS from what i gather. 2007 T600 and they just bought new Benson flats.
My buddy offered .35 a mile and i shot that down instantly. He countered with .38 (Has a older Mack CH with a flat top)
I think i'll pick it right up, But really dont want to bust my ### for crap pay.. What do you experienced guys think??
New to Flatbed, Not new to trucking

what about tmc?

It all depends on what they offer. Can't look at just CPM. Do they have tarp pay, stop pay, d&h pay, detention?
-
Also. Have you talked with any of that companies drivers? Have you scene any other equipment owned by them?
-
That's right on. I made at least a quarter of my overall pay from tarp, short haul, border crossing, and bonuses on top of .39/mi. Plus you all the mileage pay in the world isn't worth a thing if you aren't getting miles. The very next question after your offered mileage pay should be how many miles should you expect to get each week.
