Both West Wind and Wolf are owned by Polish emmigrants so I am sure they now each other.

I say this being in this country 11 years, came from Poland too.

Whoever You choose, keep in mind, company safety score has direct association with amount of inspection You will go when You drive their equipment.

And most likely You will be pushed to run illegal.

Also saw their trucks, check Vehicle Maintenance on above webpage.

    Good luck!

Don't take this the wrong way, but when I first read your post I had to ask myself what kind of quality school is wolf by starting students with companies like West Wind. It sounds like that lady does not have a clue on what a safe Motor Carrier is all about. there are a lot of companies that a student can choose from and yet this school is telling you to go with a bottom of the barrel company, some things wrong with this picture.....

Its too late now to get a complete refund. At least there seems to be a pretty good starter list of companies that students can apply at on this forum and be trained at. I was told by Schneider to call them when i get my CDL.Their recruiter was well spoken and knowledgeable. I'm very, very interested in Maverick, but I have no Idea if I have the strength to deal with tarps. Wolf doesnt teach you to tarp loads,im not sure if any cdl school does, but it looks like thats where the pay is at.

Sounds like it was Donna. I wouldn't go with this company. Its probably a Polish friend of hers.

Talk with Amador on who he recommends.

Give yourself some credit....you can tarp. :biggrin_25519:

i would stay away from these euro owned chicago outfits, you have many better options out there once you get your cdl, all theses outfits are bad news

I'm a young woman of Polish descent, I'm thinking thats why she suggested that place to me, it just makes me nervous that, had I not researched it a bit, I could have been put in a compromising situation down the road . I'm probly going to with Schneider trucking once I get my CDL. They sound like they have a good student driver training program,I havent seen any posts in this forum complaining about them, either, and the recruiter was well spoken and knowledgeable.

I think that you should do good with Schneider, I don't recall if they have a yard in the Chicago area, but no matter were you go you will have a learning curve just starting out, just remember to check the CSA scores for who ever you go with.....
